Amy Lloyd

Growing up in a small city in Wisconsin, Amy Lloyd knew early on she was destined to search out and discover all that life had to offer. During her travels abroad, as well as within, she learned that the one thing constant in her life was the love of art. Becoming an artist has led her down a wide open road, continually enriching her life's journey.

"As I continue to develop myself as a fine artist, I trust that I will be able to depict, as well as connect the space between reality and imagination. I feel my art should have a connection with real life but at the same time elevate one to a heightened consciousness where beauty, understanding and emotion coexist."

Amy Lloyd is an intuitive artist. Her work stems from her inner journey to create and reflect a continuum of life. She paints to promote greater understanding of the human spirit. Amy is sensitive to portraiture and chooses to paint in a representational style because of its realness and grounded, organic nature.

Inspired by travel and people of other cultures, Amy draws upon these experiences in her paintings. She also finds the study of the Master's invaluable; from their technique to their writings and how they arrived at their level of achievement.

"I pay special attention to painter's who have created mystery and sensitivity in their portrait work; Eugene Carriere, Gustav Klimt, John Singer Sargent and many others."

Amy has a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Masters Degree in Business, and has attended art workshops in France, Italy, Idaho and Chicago. She completed the four year atelier program at School of Representation Art (SORA) in Chicago. Amy is the co-founder of Entre' Art Inc., an art studio supporting community arts through art exposure, teaching and web design. She also teaches privately, is on the faculty at SORA, a visiting instructor at the Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art and is an assistant icon painter, Imago Inc, of Chicago.

"Art and my family is where I resonate. Although my life is full, my journey continues." Amy lives in the Chicago area with her husband Chuck and daughter, Elena.
