Grigor Eftimov
Grigor Eftimov started drawing at 3 years old when he relocated with his
family to the U.S. from Kavadarci, Macedonia. At this early age he was influenced by his father's drawings and
woodcarvings, as well as animation and video games. He lived in several places as a child, including several U.S.
cities, New Zealand and Australia. In Australia, he went to a Rubens exhibit and became very interested in fine art.
Grigor has since been influenced by Jan Matejko, Beksinski, Odd Nerdrum, Dave McKean, Prudhon, Caravaggio, Michelangelo,
Bernini, animated movies, Asian film culture and caricature artists.
Grigor attended the American Academy of Art and the School of Representational Art, where he now is an instructor.
He is an airbrush artist, production artist, portrait and caricature artist. He spends his time doing various
commission works, mostly portraits, some illustration and caricature.
Grigor has won awards at the National Caricature Network Convention.
He also was awarded 2nd place in the American Academy Juried Student Show.
In the future, Grigor would like to combine caricature into more traditional elements of art. Grigor feels
that caricature is definitely a part of his vision as he sees the demeanor in everything and is able to capture
the expression in all things to a posing figure, a smile or the way the hair falls along side a face.
