Painting the Figure with Bruno Surdo June 24, 26, 28, Tues/Thurs/Fri, 8am to 1pm, $450 Instructor- Bruno Surdo Bruno Surdo will demonstrate and assist students in his process of painting the human figure. His many years of experience has brought him to work in a method that combines technique from the Venetian and Flemish styles of painting. This course will focus on the technical aspects of painting the human figure working through the following steps: monochromatic underpainting, painting flesh tones and impasto/thick layers of paint |

Mini Atelier June 9-July 30 Mon/Wed 8:30-3:30 pm $775 fulltime/$575 part-time This 8 week course involves the experience of studying in the Atelier .academic. tradition. In the morning, the student will draw or paint a prolonged figure study. In the afternoon, students work on plaster cast studies and still life painting. The course will stress the importance of drawing accurate shape relationships while improving fine draftsmanship skills. |

Saturday Life Drawing and Painting June 15-July 20 Saturday 9-12 $185 This 6 week course is designed to teach beginning and advanced students a disciplined approach to drawing the human figure. Anatomy, proportion and value relationships are stressed in this structured class. This class will utilize sight size, comparative methods and include gesture drawing. |

Caricature June 20 Friday 9-4 $75 Instructor- Grigor Eftimov In this course caricature artist Grigor Eftimov, will discuss the basic fundamentals and history of caricature. Through demonstration and participation the student will learn how to sketch a face in a timely fashion with an eye for likeness and a flare for exaggeration. |

"Alla Prima" Portrait Painting 2 Sessions: July 28-29 or August 16-17 Sat/Sun 9-4 $185/session Instructor- Grigor Eftimovi In this 2 day course, the student will learn to establish a likeness of the model utilizing sound principles in .alla prima. (direct) method of oil painting. The course includes a demonstration and exercises for the student to paint a head study. |

Materials and Methods September 7 Saturday 9-4 $75 Instructor- Amy Lloyd Essential materials and methods of the oil painting process will be discussed including: drawing and canvas preparation, paint and medium application, brushes, finish and final presentation of work. |
